SMART-2005 (First ever IT Competition for Special Children)

“Special Olympics – Bharat” holds state level and national Olympic events for Special Children. This year, a national level event was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from 28th Nov to 2nd Dec 2005. There were nearly 1,100 children registered from 24 states. Care ‘N’ Cure Charitable Society had also organized an I.T event simultaneously during that time, probably first of its kind in the country, in which participants were given demo on the softwares before they actually competed. Around 400 Special Children had participated in this event from 2 Union territories and 19 states across the nation. The children enjoyed working on the packages and each one was awarded with an Appreciation certificate. A total of 73 Gold Medals, 59 Silver and 54 bronze medals were presented to the winners along with an appreciation certificate. Apart from this, MoUs were signed with 106 Institutions, who also received the Special Softwares free of cost. We have also given softwares to 17 individual parents and teachers to be used for their children at home.
