(Sona Special School for Mentally Retarded Children)
ABOUT US
Sona Special School is a non - profit voluntary organisation registered under Society Registration Act - 1958 and since then, it is serving the Mentally Retarded children. It is a dream come true for a team of Professional and few enterprising parents of disabled children. Initially, it has 10 children and now the capacity has increased to 200 children supported by 55 staffs members & all types of professionals.
It aims at making parents aware of the child with Special needs and include them in facing the challenges.
FACILITIES OFFERED
Sona Special School in its early days, provided day care service but gradually, it started residential school after seeing the urgent need to include Special children of rural area. It not only imparts education but also provide pre - vocational training to the children with Special need.

4. Psychological assessment.
5. Pre - Vocational Training.
6. Transport Facilities.
7. Parents Counselling.
8. Home - based training Programme.
BENEFECIARIES
Under this project, 70 children are being benefited with immediate implementation of the special software.

ACTIVITIES / ACHIEVEMENT
1. Special School for M.R. children.
2. Home training programme for unadmitted M.R. children.
3. Parents Counselling.
4. Public Awareness Camp in Rural & Urban areas.
5. Parents Training Programme.
6. Sports activities for Special children.
7. Sona Special School received Award from State Social Welfare Minister.
8. 10 students joined the Institute as a student few years back, now they are serving in private sector (cloth industry, shop) etc.
9. Sona Special School organised VIIIth Special Olympic in year 2004-05.
10. Sona Special School's student participated in National Level Sports.
